Carrick Provides a Helping Hand to the FIG Network

Casual Fridays at Carrick aren’t just about dressing down; in a short period of time the team have managed to raise just over R4,000! The Fig Network is an organisation that provides impoverished communities all over Cape Town with a home cooked meal amongst other things, and they were selected as the recipients of monies raised. Catherine and Nazreen from Carrick volunteered their time to do what girls do best – shopping! They bought loads of canned goods, fresh meat, rice, spices and vegetables, all of which were used to cook up a storm. Communities that benefitted from this contribution were Hanover Park, Vygieskraal and Kewtown with The Abdurahman Clinic in Kewtown being the main recipient in this area.

What else does the Fig Network do?

  1. Provide a platform for professionals and experts to “pay-it-forward”
  2. Promote and support all businesses in their network
  3. Provide sustainable support to under-resourced communities and organization.
  4. Facilitate the strategic collection and distribution of resources
